Since the theory is complete, reality must split in two every time there is a quantum event, and both worlds are real. This is the many-worlds interpretation due to Hugh Everett. When we say "many" that cannot begin to describe the vast number of real, independent universes that spring into being as a result of collapsing the quantum wave function in every event. All this effort just to prop up a theory's claim of reality. It simply does not match up with what we observe, and does not explain why we only observe one reality.
