Holiness and Love | |
---|---|
A: God is holy. Some things conform to God's
moral character, and some do not. God commands us to be
holy. |
B: God's love is faithful and steadfast. God has
done everything possible to save mankind, because he so
loved the world. God is merciful and approachable, through
Christ. |
-B: God's holiness appears so severe that it
rejects, alienates and condemns everyone. It creates fear
and punishment that is inescapable. God is not approachable.
|
-A: God's love is unconditional and universal;
God's justice is compromised. Morality has no fixed
standards of justice and righteousness. |
