Nature and Scripture | |
---|---|
A: Nature is the general revelation, the physical
creation, which declares (non-verbally) to everyone the
glory of God. |
B: Scripture is the special revelation, which
declares in verbal form the will of God for mankind, the
source of meaning and purpose and hope. |
-B: Naturalism: all knowledge must come from
nature alone. Loss of meaning, significance. Scientism,
reductionism, positivism. |
-A: "Bibliolatry": all knowledge must be derived
from scripture alone. Loss of objectivity of knowledge and
common ground; dogmatism, fideism. |
